Steve Austin wants to run my Website!

Unfortunately not this one.

Last weekend I placed a toe in the murky depths of advertising. What an experience. Steve Austin from Texas asked to run my website, for dollars of course, unfortunately not the six-million-dollar Steve Austin from my youth. Also, I received two offers of a date, but the chaps lived in the US, even for me that’s a bit far to go for a pint and a packet of crisps. And the ultimate, I received a proposal of marriage. Now, if any of these many chaps had bought Mrs Brown, which they didn’t, I might have said yes to their proposals. On second thoughts, probably not.

As an Indie author I am learning many skills, some I’m pretty good at, others are a work in progress, but advertising is one which I’ve not mastered. Although I’ve taken courses, followed instructions, and interacted on various forums, it still scares me silly. This time, I joined a book promotion newsletter, Hello Books, pretty safe and straightforward I thought and although the instructions were simple; I managed to get them wrong. I didn’t press enough Amazon buttons. This is one habit I’m known for, not pressing enough buttons, and one I will break, eventually. For even at my age, I’ve been told I’m never too old to learn or receive a proposal of marriage.

Now, after my advertising faux pax, I’m going into my cave to write the next 2,000 words for my latest work in progress, A Forgotten Legacy. I can get that right, because I know where all the buttons are for writing.

And finally, because of my not following instructions and not pressing enough buttons, if you live in the UK, you can buy Mrs Brown for 99p this weekend only or read it for free if you have a Kindle Unlimited account

Mrs Brown is available in the UK for 99p

Thank you.
