On the 14th of August 2020, my first novel, Mrs Brown, will be published on Amazon. To begin with, there will only be the kindle version. The paperback will be available after I’ve received and checked a proof copy and the audio version, winter 2020.

An article I came across by accident on the internet inspired Mrs Brown, ‘How to disappear and keep your money’. After some research, I accessed masses of information on how to do just this, not that I had any money I wanted to hide, or to put the idea into practice. The company’s target audience, at the time in 2011, married men who wanted to move on with another woman but not give up their wealth in an expensive divorce. Although my story is about disappearing with money, it doesn’t crossover into illegal. More of a moral dilemma!

Mrs Brown nagged me to write her story during a NaNoWriMo event in 2011. Since then, she has scolded me for leaving her languishing in a drawer for the intervening years. Writing the first draft involved several hissy fits from Mrs Brown when I couldn’t write a single word, this is commonly known as writer’s block. I love Mrs Brown, she is a force to be reckoned with and I think she’ll be pleased with the end results.

I hope you enjoy her story as much as I enjoyed writing about her and her life. Please, I beg of you, don’t leave her languishing in a dark place, she won’t forgive you.
