As I mentioned in my previous blog, winning the international category at the prestigious Winnie Awards with “Gelvira the Visigoth” was an absolute dream come true. But the excitement doesn’t stop there! I’m thrilled to share that my other young adult novel, “Amalie’s Perilous Journey,” part of The Bronze Age series, also received an Honourable Mention!
Amalie’s Perilous journey was entered into the Young Adult category, where the competition was fierce, and I’m so incredibly proud that her story stood out and earned this special recognition.

“Amalie’s Perilous Journey” shares a similar heart-wrenching premise to “Gelvira the Visigoth”: In Amalie’s story, she loses her family to a stranger’s illness after her kindhearted mum nursed him.
Amalie’s story is set in a time long, long ago, when the world was brimming with mystery and danger. After her family is tragically struck by plague and dies, Amalie is sent away from her village. To make matters worse, the new elder has sent her family’s belongings to the annual market in Os Pericos — a grueling ride over vast plains, treacherous mountains, and raging rivers.
Along with her possessions the new leader of her village banishes her and her loyal friend, now her only family, Roble to the dangers of this wilderness.
Amalie and her loyal horse, Roble, must travel across the untamed wilds of Bronze Age Galicia. Her mission? To retrieve her family’s most precious possessions, including the bronze battleaxe head — the very last piece her dearest papa, forged.
She must confront howling wolves, blinding storms, raging river and cunning bandits before she reaches her destination.
Will her unyielding courage, sharp cleverness, and the unwavering bond with her horse, Roble, be enough to guide her through these insurmountable challenges?

Saddle up and ride into an adventure of a lifetime! Discover Amalie’s Perilous Journey today!
